- Open Windows Task manager on your pc by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Escand go to process tab.
- Search for the process exe or any other such processes and right-click then End task.
- Press Windows key+R and type 'regedit' and press Enter to open the Registry editor.
- Then navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run
- Search for the registry key "odwcamszas.exe" and right-click then select.You may not find the exact same key but search for some other junk values which do nothing.
- Now reboot your PC to save the changes.
You can also remove the shortcut virus without installing any software using command prompt.For this follow the below instructions.
- Open command prompt.Go to start>run>Type “cmd”and then press enter.
- Enter the name of drive which you wanted to remove the shortcut virus.
- Now type the following command and press enter.
“attrib f:*.* /d /s -h -r -s” or attrib-h-r-s/s/d f:\*.*(Assuming f is the drive)
- Now just wait for the process to complete and this will remove the shortcut virus.
